We celebrate life stories and I want to share one with you. But first, I’d like you to put on your “empathy cap.” Imagine if you were 99 years old. You’re lounging in bed watching one of those morning shows probably thinking “just 3 more months to 100!” and the guy on TV says you’re dead. “Well, it’s going to be a sad Veterans Day this year because all the Rosie the Riveters have passed away.” Would you pinch yourself? Think about it for a second. Your friends are gone. Maybe even all your family is gone too. How would you feel about learning of your own demise? You would pinch yourself just to make sure.
That really did happen to our treasured guest at Palm Garden of Tampa. Our very own Rosie the Riveter. She told me herself when I attended the Palm Garden Veterans Day Celebration. Her name is Doris H. and I promise you she is very much alive.
We are proud to serve all those who served and who continue to do so! Click below to see our Salute to Veterans and all those who serve The United States of America. We will never forget the sacrifice made by all the men AND women who’ve served so that we may breathe free.
